Experienced Lawyer: If You Have Been Injured at Sea
I am a Proctor in Admiralty and, as such, have successfully prosecuted claims arising from injuries while at sea and other such maritime claims, including those arising under the Longshoreman's Act. My Providence, Rhode Island, law firm — Vincent D. Morgera, Ltd. — I handle these matters of admiralty and maritime law for clients, focusing on achieving the best possible results quickly and effectively.
My clients include those involved with the fishing industry on fishing vessels, including those who work at sea or operate sea vessels, cruise ship passengers and passengers aboard privately-owned boats.
Years of Experience in Admiralty Law
My work as an admiralty and maritime law attorney began years ago, when I was asked to represent crewmen in the Merchant Marines. I continued to build my practice by helping people who were injured in cruise ships.
Many of the cases I tried as an admiralty lawyer (originally in the Southern District Court in Manhattan) involved lawsuits against large law firms with considerable resources. Because of my hands-on approach and thorough preparation, my clients were able to meet these opponents on equal footing — achieving successful settlements and verdicts.
When I take an admiralty and maritime law case, I conduct investigation regarding the condition on the ships involved. I often record these conditions through photographs. I also interview witnesses and experts and do extensive legal research.
